Can any of the experts help me identify which lock is for a 62 series(powered)? I had two hatches one for a 62 and one for a 60, I took em all a part and now don't remember which ones goes to which... There is subtle differences in the brackets on the back. Also Can these early be rekeyed, I feel like I read somewhere that you can have the power one rekeyed? If the case is that the 62 lock can't be rekeyed can I use the 60 series lock and have that rekeyed to work?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Now need to go figure out if I can get these all keyed alike. Thank you

You may want to contact Matt at www.Vintageteqparts.com

He knows everything there is to know about these locks and has the exact machine they used at the factory to cut keys. He can key it to match your other locks. The 'Key Code' in stamped on the lock cylinder of the passenger (right side) door lock.

I don't think the hatch lock is able to be re keyed.
my local locksmith looked into it for me and said he couldn't do it,
chatted with Matt years ago about it and he didn't think it could be done either.
I ended up having the key code from the passenger? door and have a separate key for my hatch

I spoke with Matt a few weeks ago and he said the same thing. He also warned me about the possibility of that lock catastrophically failing and rocketing parts. Something to do with the spring tension.

So beware if those tabs on the back are severely rusted.

So my plan is to have two keys. But I guess you could rekey all the other lock's to match the push lock.

Yeah I kind of remember reading that somewhere. Maybe I just leave the rear non power. As I don't have any keys for the power lock version
