Looks like an air cleaner off a pony motor on a old caterpillar bulldozer

@The catskinner is partially correct.
It is an oil bath air cleaner. Used on Late CJ2A Willys Jeep. It was also used on a few tractors If i remember correctly.

The cleaner was produced by a company called Donaldson which still makes air cleaners to this day.
