Came across this NOS 2F Manifold combo and it was unusual to me because it does not have the emissions stuff or what I've seen on US-spec parts. Also, it has not been machined for a 'warm up flap' to direct heat to the underside of the intake which leads me to believe it must be ME spec?

Any other opinions?

I was always under the impression that the warm up flap reduced hot air to the intake..

When ambient cold, hot exhaust is directed to the underside of the intake, speeding warm ups and aiding vaporization. The thermo-spring expands when warm and moves the flap to direct exhaust to/out the down pipe... At least that's my understanding, until corrected :)

Exactly, without the flap, hot air will always be routed to the intake manifold..

Without the flap I would think there is no directed flow.

But my understanding of the Bimetal spring was reversed.

So, if you take the flap out, you always have hot air hitting the intake..

Regardless, I have seen a intake manifold like that. But for the life of me I don't know where..

No machining for heat shields, either...

"cold" weather package?

PCV hook up and PN are a match for 75-78. Lack of the butterfly? News to me. Maybe JDM.
