Help! I lost the woodruff key into the timing cover

Help please, I lost the woodruff key off the crank into the timing cover and I don’t know what to do. It must’ve got knocked when I pulled the harmonic balancer off and I didn’t realise till I put the balancer back on. Are there any ways of retrieval without removing the timing cover? Or should I just buy a new one

What year? If it’s a obd2 95-97 then maybe you got lucky and can pull the crank position sensor and retrieve it with picks and a magnet.

You could try a small inspection camera to look for it, some small inexpensive models will attach to your phone.

Have you removed the crank seal yet? The key may not have gone far.

I was able to fetch mine by removing the seal and using a magnet.
