Got some Method MR701s for my 1997 LX450. The front wheels installed fine but the rear hub seems to be slightly bigger diameter and can’t get them to seat onto the lugs.

I know this is probably a stupid question so roast me if you like.

I've read that some Methods have a ring or lip around the hub that holds the center cap. It needs to be machined to fit on an 80.

Yep, look inside the wheel hub hole. There is likely a lip that raises a few mm and its there to retain the center cap for the wheel. This has to be machined iut to work on an 80. Chek your front too. The lip would just be touching your drive flange nuts.

Es no Bueno. You got to lose the lip or use spacers.

I did speak to method about this and they gave me the info to have the lip machined out.

Are the rear hubs not 106 like the front?
Think you've kinda answered your own question....

You need 108mm centers. I run 105s on mine with no issues at all.

80s run 106mm bore. Not 108. Not 105.

106.
Why don't you re-read my post and think about what I said. Do you need a pic to help?

105 being the wheel type and not the bore
