Hi Everyone,

Enjoyed your meeting last Thursday! Look forward to hooking up with you on the trail. I will be at Cruiser Days on Saturday, but have a trip up Mt. Cheam with my 6-year old daughter on the Sunday. Her first good hike, we'll see how far we get.

I would be interested in another run up Cogburn later in August too.

Attached is pic of my truck. Yes, it's orange and those are indeed snow tires; one project at a time!

See you Saturday!

Welcome Rob. Nice truck.
You will enjoy the hike up Cheam, especially on a clear day. The snow patches on the hiking trail are melting fast but you will have a few to slog through on the climb. Makes for a fun descent boot skiing. The road is no problem. There's enough people coming in/out that there is usually a watchful eye on the trailhead.

I've been up Cheam a couple of times in the cruiser, so no worries there. Last year I hiked Lady Peak (the peak to the right), which was a lot of fun.

Bad experience boot skiing, as fun as it is, I had a good fall on Cheam in 2006 that pulled my achilles.....

Even nicer Echo, or Yaris! :smokin:
The yaris is my other mid-life crisis on a budget. Eibach springs, Borla exhaust, amp, subwoofers, extra speakers, K&N and modified air intake.... Yes, it's still a front-wheel-drive sewing machine, but it's a lot of fun! It's my commuter vehicle and cruiser is for weekend fun.

How long is the hike up Lady Peak. It took me 2 hrs up Cheam last September. I realised how out of shape I had become. I think I will try to make a September hike up Cheam annual to gauge how slow and fat I am getting.

Rob, I can't really say welcome as I'm not a CC member (yet)

But welcome to Mud of course and great to hook up with you and thanks again for helping me with my frame.

Greg, that sounds like a good idea to me, an anual trip/hike to see how fat and out of shape I'm getting, mind you I already know that :(

The hike up Lady Peak is a little longer because we didn't follow any trail, it was early July last year and we had to traverse a lot of snow until the ridge, then followed the ridge up. About 2.5 hours for this 250lb slug. I think the best route is to go into the bowl on the Cheam hike and then head for the ridge, rather than try and traverse the steep slopes like we did. Anyhow, you know where the top is, just aim for it!

Cheers,
Rob
