Just thought I would pipe up and say hello! I am up in Nanaimo and ran into Rob when I was picking up supplies at Metal Supermarket. He pointed me in this direction saying there might be some other cruiser buddies around. I have the maroon 80 series here in town. I have done the 1HD-T swap to it a few years ago now. I have not taken the truck out much lately as I have been getting into dirtbikes. Mainly trying to get myself ready for the trans america trail next summer.

Just thought I would say hello! Hopefully I can make it out to some meetings and get to know you guys!

Rob

Well, hello :flipoff2: official MUD greeting. Too bad you missed last nights guided tour of Shawnigan Lake in
a successful search for beer. Look forward to meeting you and seeing your truck. J

Welcome to VI cruisers! Look forward to meeting and checking out your truck! Not many LHD 1HDT 81's around.

Great meeting you Rob.

Rob did not mention him and his dad did Moab awhile back, they did some big climbs in the big ole 80 and had some buggy guys surprised..

Anyway, great meeting you and hope you can make a club meeting or even shoot out to one of our events..by the patina on the exterior of your truck it appears branches are not a worry:beer:

Yup Moab was a blast! And I dont worry too much about branches. My truck hates me for it but I wax it every once in a while and it helps the branches slide off :) By once in a while i mean once a year :). Look forward to meeting everyone. Are most folks in Nanaimo? I do see quite a few 80's around but not many seem to get dirty :)

Majority of the club is in Vic..couple trucks I do see also but have not had a chance to introduce myself as of yet..

I had seen one 80 with RTT, could of been you as you own a ARB unit.

We do have a new club member with a red BJ42 I think from Parksville, for sure it is growing..

Me Jim and Jonathon (who often travels for months at a time) are the locals.

Good to know! yeah there is a kitted up gray one around with a rear ladder on the bumper, i think he lives up near extension. I also sometimes drive a blueish/silver one, its a gasser, has the exact same tires and lift but has the OEM winch in the front bumper. It was my dads truck and my mom now keeps it around and I am responsible for the maintenance on it... it leaks more oil than my diesel!
