:D Hello everyone my name is Victor and i'm posting from Southern California mountains. I was thrilled to find this site and other Toyota owners and enthusiasts.

My son, 11 year-old Alex, and I recently purchased a 1983 Toyota Pickup and have been enjoying off roading in our local mountains.

Our Rig is completely stock, but will soon be receiving some modification. We are stilll not sure about lockers, Detroit or ARB.

Recently purchased new BF Goodrich 31" tires, mud terrain.

We'll post photos of our trips and our Rig, before and after mods.

I am sure you all have many ideas or lessons learned about which mod's were successful and some course corrections which I would love hear about in future discussions.

Also would like someone to show me how to post photos. ????

Let's go find mud!

Victor

Welcome to Mud Victor!!! :flipoff2: <- Mud salute :D Glad to have you aboard!

Untill you hit 10 posts, I think you are limited to 3 photos.... But you can click the "Go advanced" button below the reply box and a new page will come up, then there is a little paper clip button you hit and then browse for your photo. They need to be resized though.... :D

Hi, Everyone!

My name is Scott King, and I live in Topanga, Ca. Years, decades, actually, I owned an FJ Cruiser, which I loved. But times changed, and I now have a '79 long bed 2WD pickup with 244 K miles on it, still running strong. It's completely stock, and I am aiming at at least 300K miles. It's on only its second clutch, and never had the bottom end of the engine apart. I'm having trouble passing smog this year (CO is way high, rest OK). After being ripped off by a mechanic in Reseda, I am going a different route. (I am withholding his name because the ripoff, while pretty clear to me, is still a bit vague and probably would not hold up in court. Just in case I'm wrong, I don't want to falsely accuse the man). In the process I discovered my vacuum advance diaphragm leaks, and found this site while looking for a new one. Anyone know any auto parts suppliers who carry parts for these old trucks?
