Heater Core Flush?

While I have my cooling system apart, is it reasonable to disconnect and run some water through the heater core without removing it? Until I got it, this truck only had Columbian water run through it.

I did that.
Nasty tea water came out at first.

It’s reasonable. Some warm water at the same pressure of a garden hose can get more gunk out of it than expected, and you can just connect it at the firewall versus actually removing the core.

A hose is usually enough to get most of it out.

If it's actually clogged you can use something like OTC6043 to blast agitated water in there. Requires shop air.
