So I have a cable that was used for throttle or something else, it was long enough to sue for the heater cable. I practiced making the loop for a fj60 heater valve on the wire end, then after doing the same process of heating the wire letting it cool then bending, I tried it to the correct length and it broke and now its too short. Aside from attempting to soldering a piece of wire together is there another option for fastening a cable to this knob? trying to avoid buying one. SOunds like drilling out where the cable enters the knob housing and soldering in a new paino wire is the solution, thoughts?

I tried once to drill out the wire - wire was way harder than the shaft. Make a new brass shaft with a knob, solder/crimp/set screw your wire. I bought assortment of brass rods on Amoron https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CHF754NC

I have lots for taps and dies for small stuff and a unimat sl100. I make all kinds of little fiddly crap out of metal because I despise plastic for the most part.

Adapt this seems way easier.
Amoron 5' $14 8' $20 Has several ends to use
