Correct, it's a film.

Get an orbital and buff them out twice a year, has worked for me and they still look new.

Lamin-X doesn't list the LC (for my 2017 anyway), but the Xpel company has a pre-cut kit ($70) for the LCs up through the 2017 model. My installer said the pre-cut kit was invaluable as the shape on the '17 would likely be impossible to do with a single sheet.
