Running HID's in Halogen housings isnt that bad around cities where there are street lights and stuff (most 80's natural habitat) lol.
Its another story in the rain on a narrow back road when you are the other guy, completely blinded, white knuckled, death grippin the steering wheel just trying to stay out of the ditch.
Story time:
There is a Dodge Ram around here and the owner has HID's in both the headlights and the fog lights! Those irritating blue ones to boot. I'd love to yell at him and tell him how I feel but I'm more the kind of guy to keep to myself and rage inside.
I did however get the chance to return some of the courtesy he had show me in the past.
I have passed this guy in the fire truck, lights and sirens blazing several times. He is one of these duch bags that feels he doesn't need to pull over and stop when he sees an emergency vehicle coming at him on our narrow single lane roads.
Last week I am behind the wheel and I see this blue glow ahead. It was a particularly narrow part of the road so I made sure I had PLENTY of road for the fire truck. He wasn't even close to stopping and thought he (as usual) could thread the needle. Well he couldn't and found himself right in the ditch, still moving as I passed, ditch water and debris flying.
Had he adhered to the rules stated in the MVA there wouldn't be a problem, instead he's at home cleaning out his shorts and washing ditch goo off his truck. I have since had a little chat with the guy and informed him of the rules he already should know. It helped I had two other fire-fighters there who agreed they too had passed the guy whilst he failed to yield to an on coming emergency vehicle.
Im guessing the HID's will remain, his attitude however, has changed.
No offence there Jeff, just thought I'd share a story.
Dodge ram owners are all loosers any way! lol.
