AC. It was recommended l just get a whole new AC setup!? Came from Spain. Upgraded coolant in 2021 by importer.

Thoughts? Sources?

Rock on!! Gracias :)

You have some weirdness going on - that is not the factory AC compressor or bracket.
definitely not OEM

is there a part number on that AC compressor you may be able to just buy the clutch assembly

but if the compressor is seized you will need a whole new compressor or rebuild.

Yeah :/

Not the only weirdness, either. Some people's kids, eh! The glory of owning a truck is doing wtf you want. Then ship it to the US.

I'd guess not all the rubber got replaced w the upgraded coolant, and it degraded and now s***sfuct.

How shall l procede?!

What makes you think the clutch is bad???
Does it engage and just not spin? Or does it not engage at all?

You can test the clutch by energizing it with 12V and see it engage.

Few things could be wrong:

1. System could also be low on ac causing the clutch to not engage at all.

2. Clutch is worn and just spinning.
3. Electrical issue. The electro magnet is not pulling the clutch in to engage.
4. Compressor mechanical failure.

Pull the belt off Spin the compressor by hand check if it will rotate.

This will identify if you need a compressor.

1.look up the part number for that compressor you have

2. Find the pulley/clutch assembly for the compressor. And replace.

3. Low on ac check for leaks
4. Mechanical failure of ac compressor replace whole compressor with same type with pulley and clutch as one assembly and recharge the system after you identified leaks.

It made a terrible racket having difficulty engaging, then would engage, quiet, and operate great.

Now it spins making a godawful racket and smells like a burnt clutch and no cold air. So l reckoned the clutch was out. I appreciate the input above!

ultimately you can restore everything back to OEM.
