I have a fully functional 12/24 converter from a 1991 hdj80.

These cost about 300$ at the dealer I am selling this one for 150$ including shipping in the lower 48.

If you have a hdj80 or hdj81 this is a good spare part to keep handy before they become no longer available.

How many Amps can these handle? Would it just run a stereo or something? Maybe i'm misunderstanding what this is....is it a 12 to 24, or 24 to 12?

I think this is 12 to 24 as on the hdj80’s every accesory is 12 volt but the starter motor is 24 volt, not particularly good with electrical stuff so someone else might chime in here.

81's aren't a true 24 volt system. It has two 12V batteries (1 starter, 1 accessories) that operate in series to achieve 24V for the starter however, once it starts the system switches to parallel and back to 12V which everything else in the truck runs on. I believe this is the device that makes that 24V/12V switch.
