so I've had my HDJ81for almost 4 years now and have left it stock "cause I've got a BJ73 for wheeling. decided to put some love into it this summer, starting with all the PM, OME 850/860 springs, OME shocks, Slee castor correction, snorkel ( going on soon ), and installing my rear locker. to level it out I've used a 10mm spacer on the DS rear, 30mm spacers upfront, and additional 10mm spacer on the DS front. slapped on my trail tires yesterday and went for a small run to test everything, super smooth on trail and flexes great. I'm very happy with it, and the service I got from Slee. enjoy the pics, I'll add more once the snorkel is on and I wrap the whole thing in silver metallic vinyl...

Looks good, nice truck! You're planning on vinyl wrapping the entire truck?

yup, gonna get the small rust spots fixed up around the rear hatch window next weekend, once thats done I'm gonna wrap it to clean it up, and re-rockguard it. no rust issues anywhere on the body with the exception of the rear hatch, but the 2 tone is kinda getting to me and I'm leaning towards all silver. I've been wrapping trucks for 9 years now so this will be easy and cheap... under the charcoal color is actually burgundy, the day I brought it home my wife made me change it LOL...

Looks like a nice clean build. You're going to enjoy wheeling the 80!

so I finished wrapping the entire truck, which took a while. I removed the fender flares so I could wrap them properly ( wrapping in behind ) and removed the rear 3 glass for the rust to be removed and repainted, nice and fresh. ended up biting the bullet on the flare moulding from toyota, but worth it in the end. snorkel instal was painless, quite easy. wrapped all the moulding trim in matching silver and added the charcoal accents just for some detail. also rewrapped all the matte black around the windows and installed a full rockguard kit including all above the front windshield, both front pillars, fender flares, hood, headlights and corner lights, as well as rockguarded the front bumper and mirrors. I had enough matte black to wrap the front bumper, which cleaned it up nicely. last thing to do is take out the door handles as they are chipping, gonna sand them down before wrapping them to match. all in all, lots of work - I spend 5 full days at about 15h a day on it but what the hell, its my baby... but it feels good to be done, also is a great showpiece for anyone interested in a how good a quality, professional wrap can be... PM me if you're in Calgary and are interested in anything like this, whether its just a hood or the whole truck, its what I do... 3M Preferred certified! anyways enough plugging, enjoy the pics...

this rig is in PERFECT condition!!

That's ridiculous! (in a good way) Makes it look brand new, good job!

Nice!!!

wow i dident know vinyl wrapping can look so good! what name brand is the wrap? im really interested in doing that to my rig, my hood is beginning to have clear coat failure :crybaby: also are those the adjustable leveling headlights? i really like the clear style lenses.

the vinyl used is 3M 1080 series, it is quite simply the best you can get ( and of course the most expensive ). I believe the headlights are adjustable, the lenses are the DEPOT lenses that were available a while ago...

Wow it never even crossed my mind to do this to my truck but it does make sense. what happens if you try and remove the wrap and does it stay clean,, tks
