how bout a side shot so we can see how the ladder follows the bodyline?

Berrry nice indeed!

Finally got the bumpers mounted on the truck. They've been sitting in Jose's shop for months (even through a move - thanks Jose).

Both are excellent work. I worked with Jim to design the rear to spec, and I think it came out really nicely. Front is obviously off the shelf - mounted a set of driving lights I had lying around. I'll replace them with some fancy toyota ones from mot when the funds allow.

Let me know what you think.

Did Jose have the truck all that time?

Zack

Glad you're happy with the bumpers. Nice looking truck

Great looking stuff! By the way, killer truck!

More answers -

Jim - Glad you weighed in. Outstanding work. While I do like compliments to the pretty truck, the thread is more about your workmanship. Glad you're here to receive the praise.

Smokey - I didn't go with qp protection. I don't do much (any?) crawling, more back roads/expedition type stuff. Stretched the funding to get the bumper, so that was one of the sacrifices.

As for the ladder, it's very strong. I weigh about 215, and I was on it jumping up and down. No perceived flex, no interference with the tailgate. Strong tubing, gusseted on each side.

Eshu - I'm glad Jim weighed in - I was expecting his price to be much higher given the increases in steel and gas. Didn't want to talk about what I paid as it was a while ago, prior to the latest insane increases.

Jan - the license plate mount is pretty trick. Will post some more photos - side shots, angles, and detail on the various pieces.

Drew - I thought you had to be subtle to be fishing! I just came on and asked you guys to tell me how pretty it is! :flipoff2:
- The can carrier/ladder debate did take some time. I figure if I really do an expedition, I will have a roof rack, which I can use to hold cans. But if I have a can carrier bumper, I still need to find a way to get up to the roof. If worse comes to worse, I can ask Jim to build me a combo swing-out or a can swing-out. Hopefully by then the legend of his dual-swing-out bumpers will have traveled, and someone would be able to use my ladder.

Rigger - Gracias.

Norris - likely so. It was a good discussion with Jim, going back and forth and discussing the merits of different bumper designs. Usually the first of any product is the one with the bugs, but this thing is really tight.

Moses - will post more pics this weekend.

Philos - I'm just too vain for the black-outs....love them whitewalls! :flipoff2:

Zack - he definitely didn't have the truck. Just lugged around the bumpers until we could figure out good times. He's moved recently, and is doing the cruiser thing in his spare time now, so scheduling is tougher. The work is still top notch though.

Pics this weekend to include OEM HJ60 mirrors. ooooohhhh.....

the price is getting out of hand :crybaby:
what i payed 6 months ago is now almost doubled.

i'm not sure how long i can keep the prices where they are at right now.
if it goes up much more, i might be in trouble.

:frown:

Angles and details from various requests in the thread.

And HJ60 mirrors. Damn, these things are sweet. I paid full price for them, but I figured better to do it now than when I finally realize I'm not going to be the first guy to respond to a parting out thread, and toyota's sold out.

Brackets are for the hi-lift.

Rover is the brother in law's. I drive a real truck. My girlfriend loves it too - I told her she can buy one any time she wants.

Jim - Can I get a part number off you for the latch, I need to upgrade what I have currently to what you're putting on your bumpers...I don't have a SROR .

Bumper looks great.
