So.... my blockheater works again. It actually always worked, it was a corroded plug end that was stopping it from working...

Spent a few minutes cleaning up the plug in and used a new extension cord and the beast fired right up this morning. -21C Impressive.

Forgot to mention that it only worked that one day. A couple of days later I ended up putting a new end on. So far so good...
