Here's a conundrum for you....re-my handbrake...l picked up 1Tonne of logs yesterday & heading home along the track l stopped at a cattle grid gate to open it & out of habit as l turned the truck off to put it into gear as the h/b wasn't working l pulled the hand brake & it locked on 3 clicks, now its working again ?.. Whereas when it stopped locking l 'pulled' on it & it didn't lock...l'm wondering if carrying the load has re-tensioned the brake drum shoes via the cable, altho its still less clicks (3) than before (7+) ?. l'm going to fit new shoes & a cable in a couple of weeks & see if that resolves the issue before l begin stripping down the handle.

I'd be looking at the locking mechanism first. Make sure the drum seal surface is in good shape too.

Its going into the garage on the 27th to get the work done, l want to get the leaking rear diff seal changed at the same time, probably about by the worn UJ... Do you know any suppliers in the UK.?...l've looked online and nothing as yet matches the '47 ...

For the diff seal or the speedisleeve?
The latter I found on ebay, my output seal came from euro4x4 in France - buy a few items and the postage is pretty good
l've bought a diff seal from 4x4 in Australia.. the speedisleeve l'm not familiar with..l'll check it out. Thanks for the reply.
