Hand throttle worth it?

I use mine for airing up my tires....fills up faster with higher RPM's ....wouldnt leave home without one!!

Very useful for anything heavy on the electrical (winch/jump starting), and anything that is pulley driven--York compressor, on board welder, etc.

It's a reasonably cheap mod and worth it. Heck you don't even have to go Toyota on this...anyone could easily mock something up homebrew style using used/old parts.

When I pull on mine, it stays in my hand.
I can only use it if I press the peddle first and then turn it. Although it is the proper procedure, I believe mine is too loose.

Any recommendation on making it bit more secure?

This is the same as my HDJ80 - set your rpm then turn the knob 90 degrees and it locks in.

But mine is loose where it is supposed to tighten onto the plastic - I think the hole in the trim should be square but has been worn round so the knob wont stay put.

I mainly use mine for after jump starting - winch isn't hooked up yet and neither is onboard air :p
