I've had an enormous yellow labrador for 11 1/2 years, since he was a puppy. Today I needed to put him down. He had gone from 120 lbs in August to 64 today. He had developed some horrible cancer that went from a marble sized cyst type thing under his skin a month ago to huge tumors in the space of two weeks. The vet said that is almost had to be hemocytoma (cancer of blood vessels) for it to grow so huge so fast. Evidently it had metastasized into his internal organs, because he started having difficulty breathing and stopped eating entirely. He also had a terribly swollen leg because the tumors were cutting off circulation to it.

Anyway, Elliot was a good dog and will be missed.

cherish the memories

Hi All:

My condolences to you for your loss. Cherish your memories of Elliott.

I have two older dogs, and am not looking forward to their advanced years . . . .

Regards,

Alan

Sorry to hear about your loss. I empathize with you having had to put down two canine friends over the years. One because liver cancer. One of the saddest if not the saddest moment of my life.

Bummer man. Sorry again.

The first to welcome, foremost to defend,
Whose honest heart is still his Master's own
Who labors, fights, lives, breathes for him alone.

Strength without insolence,
Courage without Ferocity,
