H55F Gearbox knocking

Anyone had a knocking problem with their H55F gearbox? Jumped in today and when I hit 3rd gear there is a bad knocking which changes with road speed. Can just gear it in 1st and louder in 5th, so far cant hear it in 2nd and 4th. Any ideas? On a side note, recent trip the transfer lost oil, didnt get hot and have drained/replaced with nothing unusual coming out of the oil.

Also, makes noise on acceleration and decel, if I can coast it goes away.

Spoke to a couple of people, likely chipped a tooth or flogged out the bearings.

Its going to sit in the shed for awhile now as I am rebuilding the front diff of my 100, blew it up earlier in the week.
