H55 Shift Selector Shaft Out of Sync

Cross-posting in the 6x tech forum. I recently removed and reinstalled my H55F shifter cane and the shift selector is out of sync - neutral is not actually neutral, the output shaft still spins.

BLUF: H55F gear selector shaft out of sync

Recently removed the H55F shifter cane from the transmission top cover (60s style) to have it bent for better clearance with center console.

At the time it was removed, I was careful (or at least I thought so) to have it placed in neutral.

Upon reinstalling, the shifter cane went in no problem; however, it seems things are out of sync. While in what would be the neutral position, the output shaft still spins.

Currently have the rear end on jack stands for troubleshooting. Have the transmission FSM but curious if there are thoughts on how one...

Are you sure it's actually in gear? Gear oil is sticky enough that the rear wheels or output shaft will rotate, even in neutral.
