Yep, that's the part of the harness that should have the blue wire. It should be bundled in with about a dozen other wires, most of which head back to the transmission/transfer case. The other connector you show with the two wires isn't what you're looking for. I couldn't find a similar wire connector in my passenger side harness.

i found the blue wire!! it was cut and burried further down the wiring harness. i had only missed it by about three inches. i went to open the loom cover up more and there it was. i have back up lights again!! there is no bloody way i would have figured that out without this forum. thanks guys!!

thanks for your help. super simple fix once i found the wires i needed. one more check box done on the long list of little not fundamental things that need to get fixed.
