I've spent a lot time on and offroad in a 3rd Gen, 4th Gen and GX. They all do pretty well. The 4.0 V6 is a great motor but I like the styling and ride of the GX. It only comes with the V8 and I tow a 4000 lb trailer anyway. The drivetrain and frame is the same on both 120s.
