Registration is open, for the 25th annual Great Smoky Mountain Trail Ride (GSMTR), at www.stlca.org/gsmtr/ . The event is May 16-21, 2016 at Wind Rock Park, Oliver Springs, TN (near Oak Ridge) This park is 72,000 acres with over 300 miles of trails from mild to wild, something for everyone.

Your registration includes: Free primitive camping, Thursday evening Chile Super, Friday evening Hamburger Cookout and Band and Saturday evening BBQ meal and Raffle plus a T-shirt and event decal.

Guys, we have the same cabin reserved this year that we did last year. There will be some folks from LCLC and ONSC most likely joining us, so it will be a full house. Last year we all drove up Wednesday and some camped that night and some rented a small cabin for one night. Then we had the "big house" for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, then left Sunday. It will be the same deal this year.

I'm calling Windrock tomorrow to confirm what the money totals will be for each person wanting in on it this year and will then pass along the info to everyone so they can PayPal their money in.

Their is a 99.9% chance I will not be able to make it this year because the babies are due within a few weeks of the dates and on the 0.01% chance I make it, I will just sleep in my truck. Tagging all the folks who've expressed interest so far and folks who were with us last year, so y'all can follow this thread to get breaking news.

There's a Queen Sized bed upstairs, a bunk bed and another bed downstairs, and a couch. Multiply it all by 2 since the cabins are joined. The accommodations are very nice and you won't need to bring linens or a pillow.
 
Yeah, and the bottom bunk of the bunk bed is a full I believe, so I think it's 16 people if you like to snuggle.

So that's 4 mattresses (1 queen, 1 full, 2 twins) + 1 couch, per cabin. Heterosexually speaking, that's sleeping for 5, but Jeremy may call it a max of 7, per cabin. For 2 cabins, that should be 10-14, am I right?

I am bringing my own pillow... I don't snuggle... I like to sleep without touching ANYONE.... However, if it comes down to it..... I'll share a mattress before sleeping in the -40

It's like hot racking on a submarine, nobody likes to do it, but when you get tired, you'll sleep anywhere.
 
Pretty sure I'll be back this year. Never done the cabin thing, but would possibly be interested, assuming there's an open spot, of course.
 
OK, just talked to Windrock. We have two cabins reserved for May 19th, 20th, and 21st. The big duplex cabin that we were in last year is numbers 12&13. It will sleep 18 people assuming two per bed in the big beds. The second cabin we have reserved is unit 17 and it will sleep 9 people.

We are going to fill the main duplex cabin 12&13 first and then, if needed, start filling the second cabin, but I don't think we'll need it. We need to cancel the second cabin ASAP if we don't need it because they have a big waiting list. That being said, please try to confirm your plans ASAP. Cost will be $100 per person (same as last year). You can PayPal money to sales@upstatecruisers.net , please include a note that states GSMTR 2016 in the notes.

Finally, please post up in this thread once you have paid, so I can keep a running list of people visible to everyone. Thanks!
