Thats a pretty good point you have there. He lives in bat country you know, I'll give him the last window, but not the worst. The worst one goes to Meluhhahahahahahaha......only kidding, but stop bugging me about the best one, not gonna happen! :flipoff2:

Update! We have confirmed a certain number of windows through a few different vendors down under. We will be shipping them here as quick as we can, but I know it is not quick enough. When I get them in I will see what shape they are in, hopfully all of the sets will be in decent shape. I am also hoping that I have a few extra sets for the stragalers, but doesnt look that good at this point. I guess I just said what polarweasel just wrote so I'll shut up now. Thanks for your help Alex!

Sounds like big trouble. You're going to need plenty of legal advice before this thing is over. As your attorney, I advise you to rent a very fast car with no top. And you'll need the cocaine. Tape recorder for special messages. Acapulco shirts. Get the hell out of L.A. for at least 48 hours.

Gotta love a good tangent.

finally got mine installed today (order from Steve-O that came in this spring). we did a temp install with clips and butyl tape glue until I can get to removing the little bit of rust on them. final install will be very secure glue and a strip that goes over the lip of the window interior and the body flange of the truck. off to see the tinter tomorrow

Methinks this stragaler has first dibs on extras right? :D
And the glass is half full dammit! It DOES look good at this point! :flipoff2:

Esh -
What diameter butyl tape & where did the clips come from? Also, how close to the body of the truck can the window frame be pushed without the clips and butyl?

Did you mean the window frames had rust? Suggest you get pinch weld primer from a glass shop (we use Sika Ultrafast & the comes in little "snap" applicators in each case - have gobs around the shop).

Will try to find proper-sized molding to fit over the interior trim & pinch weld to butt the window frame to. Then we'll gun windshield urethane around the opening & push the window frame in until it touches the molding, & "tool" the urethane to the edge of the frame so it seals properly & looks finished. Once the urethane sets you'll have to cut the window out - it won't move.

Nope! :flipoff2: I have a list of about 5 people here who missed the group buy that are waiting for extras. If I could have brought in 50 windows I would have, but there are none to be found down there. I just hope I have enough for everyone in the group. I will add you to the list of course, but to me, the glass is half empty for you my friend. There are always those trailer windows the other guys sell, ya know the ones you have to practically break to fit in.

Ken, lookin good buddy! You cleaned those up real nice!

Tape was about 1/4" wide by 1/8" thick approx. Clips are standard fair in a glass shop- they had them in a box of clips. If you notice, 2 types were used. That window frame is as close as it ever gets. Look at aussie photos and they don't get any closer.

The outer frame has some surface rust on the edges. About an hour job to clean up both frames easy. EXPECT RUST PEOPLE! It is not uncommon in stuff coming from Australia. Steve is trying to get the best sets he can, but with such a large order, condition will very and will be stretched.

Final install is much like Tinker describes- using urethane around the opening and finishing with a molding around the flange. Basically will be permanent when all is said and done (which is why I did it this way for now until i get time to go back and make the windows absolutely perfect).

Cheers, Ken

Max is now thinking that you are the coolest dog owner on the face of the earth to do such a thing just for him! You will enjoy the windows plenty but he is the biggest benefactor of their being installed.

Isn't it funny, I am amazed that you guys like these windows so much. Personally I reckon they are a PITA. I have never opened mine, and they leak when I wash the car. Might have to swap someone a set of non opening windows!
