I dropped over $700 on parts and $800 on labor for both manifolds in Nov. 2009....and that tick-tick-tick is still there on the driver's side. Argh! I'm tempted to jump in, $700 and install...any advice on install, LCs are fairly rare here (2 shops failed on the exhaust manifold fix) and I'm a bit concerned about buying the headers and having them sit w/o finding someone to install. Any thoughts on this? Hopefully a simpler fix than replacing the exhaust manifolds. Appreciate it.

Passenger side will be pretty straight forward, theres enough room to work around in there. Drivers side will require a skilled contortionist to replace the manifold, but again it's nothing insane. With the right tools, a 6 pack and an afternoon even the home-body could take care of it.
When I was attempting to test-fit some tundra headers, I brought it by the dealership and we(read: the tech) pulled the OEM one off, and attempted to install the stock one in very little time. If we had ones that actually fit (the new DT ones will!) I would've been in and out pretty quickly.

Header gaskets can leak just like manifold gaskets correct?

I emailed too with no reply. Called and left a voicemail, no reply. Called again and talked to him. I'm in. I will say that I didn't wait very long at all between email/voice mail/re-call. Patience is not my strong suit I guess.

Is there any adverse effect for a new header other than it could void the warranty? What's the ballpark figure for someone to put this in for me in so. cal as I have no mechanical skills.
DT is ~30m from you, maybe they'll throw em in for ya and save the shipping costs?
