Thank you for sharing! We appreciate that you secured the main VLine module inside the glove compartment, as we recommend in our documentation.

has anyone placed module in place of factory cd changer in center console

The center console or the glove compartment are kinda mandatory. The module will most definitely need to be accessed at some point for a hard reset or a direct-to-module firmware update. I've had to do this twice so far... and mine's mounted above the left kick panel. Not horrible, just have to play contortionist for a min... while holding a light.

Ironically, I need to do this again now - one day after shoulder surgery the system locked up. Not playing contortionist for a couple weeks. This is what I see every time I power up. The screen is dead - none of the buttons do anything.

The moral to the story, well, two morals:
1. Mount the module someplace accessible
2. Check for updates weekly. This system does NOT like to get behind on updates.

Keeping up with latest firmware updates doesn’t ensure seamless functionality. I used to keep up with all releases in hopes that stability and reliability would increase, but it usually wasn’t the case. If one “bug” was fixed, another would appear.

Customer support was helpful in finding a “stable” version, but the latest firmware was never the answer.
