i know its sunday and you arent at the parts counter, but i thought i would stay on your heels and ask if you found any info out on the difference listed above??
also, in general, are these the ones that kind of curve around the corner of the fj40 body or do they lay flat?
i doubt i would be able to find a curved surface on the runner that would match up if they were indeed curved emblems

They're flat. I've been at GSMTR since Thursday so I'll check when I get in tomorrow.
So here's the deal. The more expensive one (90300) IS CURVED. It also has a plastic protector that goes between it and the body, and it snaps in.
The cheaper one is in fact completely flat and bolts in place. Pictures for refence below.

That grille emblem you're describing is the one that came on my first gen. They're disco'd so hang on to it if you have one. And I can still throw a flat 4WD emblem in your order if you want. I have the one in the pictures sitting on the shelf. I'll just have to re-order one for myself and whoever else wants one.

I figured it was rare, I even thought about having it cleaned up and rechromed to look like new, and then hang it on the wall or make me a little sheet metal display for it.
I will pass on the 4WD emblem for now, need to save my pennies up for some more parts for my v6 to get the 4Runner going.
.......might we get a discount if several people order? i may be interested in a group order.

No additional discount for group orders unfortunately. I'm already doing 25% off retail and free shipping (whenever I can) as jynx and my sig state. I know I'm going to get at least one... just not sure where I am going to put it yet...

All orders come overnight from our warehouse. I can order up to 4 (that's how many they currently have) and have them here tomorrow. So if someone else wants the one I have or if you wanted 2, it's no big deal.
