We're working on an '87 4x4 22r with a weber conversion and desmog by PO. Compression is 170, 170, 190,180. I see no PCV valve anywhere. There is a fitting on the valve cover twds the rear that is plugged. There is a hose from the front top of the valve cover going into a fitting on the air cleaner. There is a hose from the back of the valve cover to the base plate of the weber. We dont see a PCV valve and we don't know for sure where to look for one. Would this be why the crankcase seems to be pressurized? Are we maybe looking at bad valve stem seals? Thanks in advance for any help.

The PCV valve should be in the grommet in the rear half of the valve cover.

Those compression numbers don't look too bad, but a leak down test will tell you for sure if you have excessive blowby on the rings.
