Prado- Your one of the lucky ones. DS won't ship to the US anymore as of December. Something about a $100k dollar fine.... Through someone up there I was able to pick up 5 new cans and have them shipped down to Utah last week. The crazy thing is I was in contact with a guy in Ontario who had a ton of nice looking used cans he was going to sell me for $7 each! We emailed back and forth several times and now he has dropped off the map and I can't get him to email me back. I had a trucker ready to pick them up on a pallet and everything. Nevets has some used cans, but they are pricey.

Covert ops.

Looks like a 'run for the Canadian boarder' might be in order, eh? Conduct a little 'importing' operation.;)

Anyone think there would be complications comming back in?

OK, so where in middle to eastern Canada can I find them? That is from Thunder Bay (by Lake Superior) east. I figure if I fill them with gas then empty them they are used.:D

Howdy,

Sorry to bring a thread back from dead, but I am looking for some Scepter MFCs ...in red, yellow, and orange...

Do you have someone North of the border that can ship MFCs?

I was lucky enough to get an order in with Scepter before they stopped selling to the public, and I had no idea that CARB regulations would have such an impact even here in TX.

I want to add to my existing collection of Scepter MFCs. I can get colored strap caps and everything else except MFCs thru DS, but not the MFCs.

Suggestions? Ideas? thoughts?

Thanks,
Greg in Austin

Really?

They are still using Black, Blue, OD, Sand, and some other neutral color, and making red and yellow straps.... but not the red and yellow MFCs??

They even mentioned it in a press release on their web site. Those were civilian only colors. If you want they will make you a batch any color you wish, just be prepared to buy a whole batch. If I had the $$$ I'd have a batch of three handle rugged waste oil containers made by them. They would have to have a very good gasket able to handle a wide range of petroleum products as you never know what ends up in the engine oil.;) I'm sure they would sell well.

Good price but what are you using for a spout?
They have the extra wide mouth that does not fit standard NATO spouts.

I ordered 4 of these German NATO style fuel cans. No restrictions on shipping. They are brand new and quite nice. NATO Jerry can on ebay.

So anyone planning any trips north of the border ??

I did it a while back and came back with 10.

I had to send them to myself though because they where bulky and wouldn't fit in the rental. They didn't ask us anything at the border going back to the us, just for our passports.

I recently found out that a standard pre-CARB Blitz metal Jerry can spout will screw into the threaded opening of a Scepter MFC just a neat as can be.

spouts? who needs spouts?

Super siphon!

super siphon gas siphon - Google Search

Just don't try to look cool in front of anyone! I carry two, one for water and one for gas, these things are awesome. I carry gas on the roof and leave the cans up there, bought longer tube and run the gas from the roof to the 80 and done.
