I spent about 5 years in Summit County and Boulder, CO, before moving to SD. I actually moved to SD for a year (2005), and moved back to Boulder b/c I had a hydroponic/organic store there. Then, I sold my house in Boulder, my Store there, and moved back to SD end of 2007.

I was a huge snowboarder and always wanted to get barreled...So, in 2005 I moved out to surf. Now, I own a home (I bought it after the real estate crash ;) ) 2 miles from the beaches, take surf trips down to Baja....and don't miss Colorado....though CO, is my second favorite state in the Union ;)

There are PLENTY of waves in SD, so don't worry about crowds...

Just so you guys know...

I am here in Colorado and due to job poop don't know when I'm getting back to Encinitas for some surfing and, and ... just everything. I've been toying with the idea of moving and this thread has been making me smile and smile harder when I think about moving there....

Thanks, for real! Thanks.

Hope to see you guys in the lineup sometime... but not too often!

P.S. I'm subscribing for when I finally get my rig ready and am back in SoCal.

One more Pro inot the Pro/Con list.

Yeah. I've even been having flashbacks. It was super moist air today and I caught myself thinking that the marine layer would keep the wind down for a bit and that conditions were probably good.

Do I have a problem?

I knew there was a reason I read this tread-

1. I grew in Socal and have surfed just about everything south of Morro Bay to Sunset Cliffs. Just had a unreal 2 days back in the water at the the cliffs after not surfing for 2.5 years unless it was a boat generated wake.. wake surfing is kinda lame.

2. I have a condo in Costa Rica and I am heading down for a week of the "tropics" and the power outages and bad roads. Super Stoked!

3. Having driven Baja and then west coast mex to just about to the southern boarder with Guatamala and over to Playa Del Carmen 15 years ago... god, that seems like yesterday.. everyhting said about the Baja travel is spot on esp quatto casas and the poop and banditios.

4. I spent an year living in Breckenridge working as a skibum "chair lift puncher working for the season passes" fly fish river bum. Cried after that move.

5. Gig Habor looked unreal- only spent a few day there last month. Beautiful place!

And now as I live in Shreveport Louisiana- with.... well.... I guess some brown lakes and impossible to catch bass. Guess I need more stickers on the boat or something!

Thanks for this thread- brought back some good memories instead of thinking about work!

Youve been to Gig Harbor, WA?? I keep waitin for the day when the olympic peninsula falls into the ocean so i can get some waves closer to home!
