I was thinking of heading up Gordon Main for some camping this weekend. Anyone care to join?

Any tips on great spots?

There is a cute little spot by the river just south of Gordon R, one rig spot. Between TR4 and TR2 if memory serves. It is
just past a cool marble quarry on the uphill side of the road. I think...Km 24/25. There is a posted plane wreck on Mt Buldoc
isn't there? Or is that on the mtn north of Harris Main? Harris Main is gated both ends, but makes for a nice walk. Should see
lots of grouse.
If you go up Hinne Cr to McClure Lk, let me know. I've been meaning to get in there, just can't find the time for it. Curious as
to what it's like.
I'd go, but........

man i just tried this past weekend and didn't have much luck to be honest
found the tree "big lonely doug" which was cool and some nice swimming spots....drove probably 100km without a ton of prime real estate. but there are a ton of service roads i didnt try simply due to time. but if you stumble on anything I'd love to know.

I hear McClure lake is a nice spot if you can find the route!

tho i might be interested in trying again!

McClure has been a destination for a while now for me as well. Made it close but a washout stopped me. One has to head closer to Cayacuse and backtrack to get there (my shortcut was a no go)

Comon Lauchlan..... lets go. Days are long now, some scouting is in order.

If be down to do some cruiser camping. Could be good to work out some kinks before going for a couple days up in Virgin Falls!

I got a different BRMB, the quarry is km 20 and the little camp spot is km 23. Lots of nice pools of water for swimming and
cooling off. Quarry is right at the bottom of TR 4A. Gonna be a hot one!

Check out Paradise Falls on your way up to Gordan River...before the gate on the right. Pully cart gets you across the river to some nice (freezing cold) water holes. Not sure of which km point exactly. About a 5min walk down from the road to the landmark. Not a campsite...park on the side of the road and go swimming kind of deal, that's it. Nice if you don't have A/C though ;-)

Whats the plan, Cam?

A&W in sooke to meetup then head out there?

Have to finalize some details on my end.... Ill post up later with times. My Pup just got neutered so I have to see if SWMBO is up to puppy sitting for the weekend.

looks like I'll be camping elsewhere, I've been waiting for confirmation from a buddy and he finally committed. Another time!

Jordan, sooke a&w 5:00pm Friday should work. Pm me your cell number.

Did you guys check for gate closures before heading out? I heard Gordon River main was closed later this afternoon...
