For now my wifey and I want to go on a road trip to get away for the weekend. Doesn't have to be 4x4 but will be taking the cruiser so some mild stuff is cool. Just don't wanna go anywhere too far off the path since we will be solo. Really just wanna take a cruise and see some beautiful scenery. Stay in a "cheap" hotel or maybe a koa for power for the night to relax with a dvd and some wine and nature. BUT don't wanna freeze our a$$es off :risk:
Thinking about 100 mile radius or so.

Whats ya'lls recommendations?
tia:cheers:

Were thinking maybe mt princeton but its a little pricey. thinking penrose hot springs would be cheaper but theres nowhere to stay down there.

Were gonna go to Florence hot springs and relax. Does anyone know if phantom canyon road from florence to cripple creek is able to be driven right now? I'd like a nice scenic drive on the way back.

We just drove Phantom Canyon from Criplle Creek down to Canon City 2 weekends ago - it was dry.

Thanks for the update. Does the road ever close or get bad enough to avoid?

I would think it would take a lot to get bad there.

One thing, take the fly rod, fishing may be good on the Arkansas.
