New to the forum I’m a landcruiser owner and I’m looking at buying a 1985 4 runner with a Chevy 5.7 engine nd automatic transmission is this a good combination for light wheeling and small rock crawling. Thanks for the help.. The vehicle I. Looking at is $12.500 or $7000 and I’m giving a 1992 80 series

Sounds like a tight fit. Any swapped vehicle is only as good as it's installer. A 5.7 V8 and proper automatic should be nice off road, assuming it's put together properly

How rough is the 5500 dollar 80 series?

I'd say the 5.7 would be better suited to the 80s series. A lot of modification is needed to properly swap that kind of power into that 4runner. without pictures or knowing the skills of the person who did the swap, it's hard to give any advice

Is this it? 1985 Toyota 4Runner · Sport Utility 4D - https://www.facebook.com/share/1BcgiheahQ/

1985 Toyota 4Runner 4x4 with a Chevy 5.7 motor. Lifted with wheels.I acquired the car through a trade. Don’t know much about it but it runs and drives great . It was modified obviously lifted and put wheels on. They swapped original engine with a Chevy small block engine. I’d take trades or best offers. Gentlemen said he paid $14,500 for it about 4 years ago. I’ve had it for almost two years now. I drive it around every once in a while.

A Carb is not going to be great for any inclines offroad.

I'd pass on this if it was me, especially at $12.5k.
