I'd like to mount up an air compressor under the hood of my 70 series but space is tight. It would be really tidy if I could fit something in alongside the battery, that space is ~12"L x 5"W x 6"H - I know there are plenty of cheap crappy little compressors that would fit but I'm happy to spend a few extra $$ to get a good reliable one with decent output for it's size. Anybody got a recommendation?

Cheers

Viair are pretty decent for the price. They have a range of units, so find one that will fit in the space you have.

cheers,
george.

Thanks guys! Looks like the ARB is a touch wide, but the Viair 88P should fit in the hole nicely so I've just ordered one.

Viair 90P. It is compact and it fits in the FJ4x glove-box nicely. (Each one of my vehicle has one, along with a Safety Seal Tire Repair Kit.)

For off-road trips, I bring along its big brother, the Viair 450P.

Thanks for the recommendations, I got the Viair 88P & it looks like a good value unit. Decent quality hose & wiring etc too.
It fits in the space beside the battery in an LJ71 nicely, currently making a bracket & will wire it in semi permanently.

It fills one of my 35's from 20-38 psi in 4 min 30 sec, so I'll be able to air all 4 back up no problem within it's 25 minute duty cycle. I don't air down hugely often so happy to trade off some speed for the convenience of having it fit under the hood out of the way.

Cheers
Clint
