Gobi or Prinsu? or something even better?

They usually make good on their promises, they did with the GX460 rack last year. ProSpeed, LFD, and SSO should have options coming to market in the future as well.

I owned a Gamiviti on my 1989 62 and have a Prinsu on my 200. In my mind, the Prinsu is much more technical, thoughtful and design-oriented. The Gamvitti is very stout, simple and relatively straight forward but doesn't seem to be as next level in evolution as the Prinsu. Definitely two different design philosophies but I'd got with Prinsu on a 200, personally. I'm very happy with mine.

FYI I reached out to Sherpa, they said they will have info around an announcement in Feb. With the ARB base rack (shark fin issue) Ill probably wait a month or two to see how those two racks develop.

I've reached out to them 2x now. Originally it was last summer then end of the year, now they say an "announcement" in Feb. They told me they wouldn't have one for me in Feb or Marrch. I am likely going with the Gamiviti...

I like their design, but I need a rack...

I have a Gamviit on my GX470. I love it. no complaints at all. I love the sunroof cut out, corner plates with mounting points. Its strong AF.

I was looking for a wind fairing + light bar solution from them, shipping does get the price up a bit compared to some others.

Prinsu FTW!

I received the giant box. its 67 pounds and 6 feet long. I'm waiting for slightly warmer weather to unpack and assemble it all. Wife already not pleased, but hey...
installed? pics?

I have been running with the Gobi on my 2016 for 3.5 years now. I do very much like its strength and the full "floor". I ordered with the optional removable crossbars so I can put them where I want. And I also ordered the sunroof insert (which is very rarely on the roof). All that said, I am considering selling it next Summer if not sooner as the only thing I put up there these days are my MaxTrax and a shovel which I strap together as a bundle. To be very honest, I could probably mount those to factory crossbars and be OK. The Gobi is heavy which is another factor. Again, not an issue if I was using/needing it. But I just haven't been. I am going to have Dissent Offroad do a handful of things over the winter and I will look at their option. But it feels a bit extreme for me and, again, I am not sure I need the space. I may also look at the ARB. Oh, and I can echo the comment about lead time. Gobi's are made to order - and the production process is long. The one thing I will hold onto is the ladder. I really like the Gobi ladder so I'll keep that on even if I don't have an official rack. I have a Yakima box I put on top on rare occasions and the ladder helps me access it.
I am also looking for a rack, however, I use the Air Down, Gear Up full sleeper platform (awesome by the way) so I don't have a need for a RTT. Currently, I throw the Thule on it for wet gear, etc. Anyway, long winded way to say, is there a product that mounts to the existing OEM crossbars (similar to the accessory mounts several rack companies sell) that could be used to secure various items like MaxTrax, shovel, etc.? This would solve the reduced fuel efficiency of the rack unless I was on a trip. Anyone have any thoughts?

I installed a ARB BASERACK 11 with their Slim Lightbar on my 2020 HE last week. Wired the light bar, but the dash aftermarket switch was defective, so waiting for the new switch. Rack is typical ARB quality and well engineered for this application. Note it covers the majority of the sunroof for those who use it.
A rock solid welded roof rack (uses all four mounting points on each side) that has a large assortment of mounting kits for just about everything.

I got my gamivity last October. Very slim line and can be custom fab for your need. I opted for a drop basket and back clearance for an add-on Gobi ladder later on. Lead time is the same with ordering a Gobi.
