They are over proud of their stuff. A 100 watt panel for $300 is so 2005.

Yeesh, those batteries are about four times the going rate for lithium ones, too. For $200 in batteries and probably another $100 in controller bits, you could build ~64ah lithium block out of used Leaf battery packs.

I dont know the benefits of lithium batts but I couldnt believe the price of those GZ products when I started looking at solar for the truck about four years ago. Why? And why would anyone pay it? My solar setup was $180 + battery for 100w. Only $160 for just the panel. Still have the same Renogy panel and only updated the controller since then. I just could not believe how cheap good solar panels were. Grape solar..... pffft

Goalzero.... their Goal is for you to have Zero money left.

Way overpriced stuff. But then lots of folk buy iphones etc too :)

cheers,
george.

Do you have any more info on your solar set up? I am interested in powering other things in my 60 series but don't want to spend a ton like the GZ stuff.

humless is far better and much more stout, goal zero Ive had for years but way overpriced. lithium batteries are great in good conditions, too cold NFG to hot way NFG

It looks like the price went down since I got mine. I got the panel, controller, cable, bundle for $180. It's $169 now. The panel by itself was $160 and now it's only $130! It's the same 100 watt monocrystalline (not polycrystalline) panel. (Below)

I would get just the panel this time, and that nasty little $99 MPPT controller some awesome dude posted here on this board. ;)

That's what I'm running now and am very happy with it. Renogy and Victron.

It charges 1 100Ah battery and 1 125Ah battery. Both AGM.

Panel with cheap controller and cable:

And just the panel:

Surely you meant 100 Ah and 125 Ah?

100 Wh is pretty puny. I would want to my solar system to be able to charge 100 Ah well.

Yes I goofed. It's Ah not Wh. Thanks for catching my mistake.

Thanks for the reply. I think I’m gunna get a slightly larger capacity unit. I have a few things I will need power to. Well I should say I would like power for. How hard is it to get a kit going? Where do you put your second battery? Sounds like I need to research a bit more.
