Silly question - where is the Glow Screen Timmer located on the BJ 74 ? . If I knew where it was I could do the overide with the NCS.

It's under the dash on the passenger side. You'll have to take out the plastic glovebox insert to access it. Do a search on glow screen over-ride...Stickboy originally came up with the idea of using a NC switch to fool the timer into thinking it's very cold outside.

*EDIT: Thread now included in the FAQ under Engine.

Location of glow screen relay

Would that be the same on an HJ61?
I can't find it on the drivers side with all the other relays.

Thanks

Tim

Getting back to the KISS prinicipal, Peters idea sounds great and even improving on that idea with a adjustable potentiometer.

I like it.

ok, don't put in a resistor, put in a potentiometer or rheostat
and control the glow screen to whatever you find is a better mix. potentiometer is better as it is ajusted with a screw and a rheostat generally is a dial and knob.

but both should work as you say.

Cool mod.

Perhaps a silly question, but do the normally aspirated cruisers use glow screens as well, or glow plugs? If plugs, ether might not be the best solution for cold starting.

Ether is not recommended by many on a 3b.
