I took the cruiser to a shop and instead of just replacing the dead battery in the truck as part of the service I was having done, they opted to jumpstart the car a number of times to make it run whenever they needed to start it. I suspect this killed something in the cluster. I have checked the fuses in the driver side interior fuse box as well as a few in the hood fuse box only to find that they were all intact. Battery, oil pressure, coolant, Gear indicators, backlight and seemingly all the warning lights work as far as I can tell (at least as well as they did before the shop did whatever they did). What do I do? Also looking for recommendations on quality non dealer mechanics in/around Indianapolis as I'm not taking back to those guys.

P.S. this is my first post here, let me know if you need any more info or if I'm committing some faux pas

Update: I found the wiring diagram, anyone know how to interpret? https://portal-diagnostov.com/image...8a4.svg?v=цуацуацуацуа=234&цуацуауца=23423fjl

With little to no expertise on this matter from anyone anywhere on the internet...I forge ahead! So it looks like theres a chip on the back of the board that has a heatsink attached, seen below. I looked up the documentation and it turns out its a voltage regulator... considering my issue was from overvolting I'm going to make an assumption and say this died- I've never soldered anything in my life but im going to attempt to remove it and replace it- wish me luck!

With alot of wicking from a solder wick and a gun I got from harbor freight, this is the result of removal. Ive ordered the replacement L4925N chip off ebay as noone seems to make it brand new. Will update when it arrives and I've soldered the new one in. Its a through board component so we'll see if that means easier or harder to put on.

The new part has arrived today, just installed:

Not too bad for an amateur I think! I'll install the board back into the machine..fingers crossed it works- will update when its in there, gotta wait for it to warm up a little.

I lied, I could not wait, went out there in 2 degree weather unable to contain my excitement...good news! I successfully soldered that component and it did not destroy anything (I think)- bad news it didn't solve my problem...so either the new 5Volt regulator I installed was ALSO cooked or the more likely scenario, its something else. Back to the drawing board...
