Gate at the Skutz bridge over Cowichan River??

I heard a rumour that a big yellow gate blocks the bridge and the trail to the Tank Traps etc. Can anyone confirm?

If there is a new gate there, does anyone know of other playgrounds in the area?

I was there with Vern and Dana 2 weeks ago and the coast was clear. Then again, was that before the fire risk went to extreme?

I'll be going that way on sunday will drive through and check it out. there is a big yellow gate a few k's past the bridge maybe thats the one?

there was fresh logging up there too, so I wouldnt put it by them

The fresh logging was only about 1/2 km from the top of the tank traps.If the gate is at the top of the traps you can still play but if the put it closer to skutzs falls you are hooped.

if you go all the way down the main road on the left to to where the power lines cross the river we bashed our way down the hill one day about 2 years ago. Jay was with us. would be quite the climb going up though. that would get you into the other side of the tank traps.
