got a 55 gallon gas tank. Can anyone think of any disadvantages with hanging it off the frame rather than the body?

The P.O. of mine, welded mounting brackets on his 55 gal. and bolted to the frame, but also added a 2 inch body lift, so as not, to hang too low below the frame.
I have it all apart and have not decided, what to do with it. I really don't want the body lift.
How are you going to mount your's.

FWIW, on my tank, it will have a cradle under it and bolt to the frame. That is in addition to a skid plate.
Would you by chance have a picture of how you mounted it to the frame?

Lil' John, your tank is not bolted to the frame, just suspended, by the straps. Yes?
Ok, now I see. That helped me alot with mine. Wish I lived close to Stockton, too
