still a noob, i'm hopin by the end of this first year I'll be out of this f'n noob stage and noob questions... but here's the latest one... I've had this rig now for just under 2 months... I always fill her up when the gas needle gets down to E. I've never seen a light (reservoir light is what I see it referred to in threads from searches I've done) but the most I've ever put in the tank is 16 gallons... do yall think I have an issue with the tank? I've got a 95. I read in threads from the "gas tank" search I did folks have 20+ gallons in their tanks... I dont reckon mines any different. Does the needle drop down to E and then go far below it? and then the light comes on much later? F... maybe my baby has a F ton more gas in her than I realized... what do yall think? Where is needle when light comes on?

so I specs on my rig 25 gallon tank. again, I've only ever filled it up w 16 gals. But I go to the gas station when the needles at E (there's no light illuminated)... does the needle really drop far below E to be really empyt? I mean, if everything's working how it should I've got 9 gallons still in there w the needle at E!?

My '93 accepts ~20 gallons once the light has been on for about 10-15 miles. If your light comes on with 9 gallons remaining, you may have an issue worth looking into.

The needle will break off. When light comes on there is about 5 gallons left in mine give or take. Put a couple gallon gas can in the back and check it out so you know your rig. Check milage when light comes on then run it out, then you'll know how far you can go.

no. I've never seen a gas light. The gas needle is down at E and I refill her--putting in 15/16 gallons. so according to specs she's 9 gallons short from being empty... do yalls gas needles drop far below the E before the gas light comes on??

Cruiserdan and I measured this exactly when we replaced my gas tank with a new one. Completely dry gas tank and added a 5 gallon bucket of petrol. The light was on when we attached the float/bracket/fuel pump assy into the tank. As we added petrol, the light dimmed and then disappeared exactly when we ran out of fuel from the bucket, thereby confirming that the light only comes on at 5gals or less of fuel.

Nope, not here. The light comes on about a needle's width below E. The most gas I've ever put in 'er was around 22 gallons - I think capacity is spec'd to 95 liters (25.1 gallons)...which means my reserve light comes on with approx 5 gals remaining.

I have a '93 LC (still noob too). My light comes on just as the needle is just below the E line. When on the E line it does not come on. My owners manual says I have a 25.1g tank (which seems to be correct). Hope that helps.

Same here. Never pumped more than 22gals ever in the tank. The light on mine comes on at around 20 gallons. Good to know still a bit of fuel sloshing around in there.
