gas tank interchangeability

I have an '82 LWB gas tank and was wondering if it was interchangeable with my smaller '85 4runner gas tank. Same goes for the skid plate.

I don't think it's a direct swap... also, the 4Runner tank is probably EFI, so it's not a plug and play in that respect either. I'm sure it could be made to work though... (Very little can't....) Why do you want a smaller tank?

No, I may want to put my larger tank from the 82 into the 4runner.

Oh... If the 4Runner is EFI with an in tank pump, then that will complicate things.... I can't say it's impossible, but I'm sure it'll be some work to get it in there right...

best bet would be to crawl around under both trucks for a little while with a tape measure - pay close attention to the shape of the top of the tanks
