Okay so I am getting about a half a mile more does any one know the formula for the odometer when u run bigger tires maybe that will add a few gallons to my figures, also I have been noticeing that when the engine is cold and I feather the gas pedal that it hesitates and acts like it is going to stall until I give it gas. When it is warmed up I really do not have this problem I can barely touch the gas and it does not hesitate or spit and sputter thanks.

What tires and gears are you running? And what was stock on your truck?

Thats a good idea with the gps thanks never thought of using that. Everything to the best of my knowledge is stock on this thing bought it from a guy and inherited all sorts of problems hope I never see him again as a peice of my mind is not all he will get lol.

hey just put your gps in there and look at the trucks speedometer, and what the gps says. but you do not know what the guy before you or before him has done, best to figure all that out first then you can work in the direction you want to go with the build. and jerod is right tire size and gears are important to get an actual mpg. him and klf and pappy will not steer you wrong!

I totally agree and I would call myself a liar if it wasnt myself..... It actually ran fine! Stumbled some times when you stepped into it but other than that it ran fine. I actually would look under it for a puddle or a trail of fuel or ??? Part of the problem was the accelerator diaphram on the side of the carb had a million holes in it and it was pulling raw fuel through it. That only got me back up to 11.5 though so I since have rebuilt the carb and it runs better but ?? on mileage

I'm running 4.88's with 35's and some heavy steel rims. My front bearings are dragging too. With all of that, I get around 19 on the highway and 16 on my last trip pulling over 400 lbs of gear and an extra passenger.

Find someone that you can swap parts out with, maybe with a wheeler rig. Perhaps get an air-fuel meter. Triple check timing couldn't hurt, remember that you need to trick it to time it or your reading will be way off. Hmm, other than that maybe leaking injectors? I don't see that using so much fuel though. If you run a quick tank through it are your results different? For example, if you go on a trip and run the tank empty in 5 hours or so. A fuel air meter could tell a lot. Do you know what your RPM's are? Possibly lower gears from a P/O?

I dont know what the deal is swapped parts still havent tried the gps idea will do that tomorro but I am getting 12 to 13 after I changed O2 senser will just keep changing parts when I can afford them cheaper than going to a shop and they cant figure it out but will do the same thing right lol thanks for all the advice again guys much appreciated.

OK so here are the stats someone correct me if I am wrong. I used gps today it says I am going 62 when actually going 60 on speedo. I also am 2 clicks behind on odometer according to gps now as and example 726.8 when I leave and drive 4 miles then it reads 730.6 if my math is righ I gained 40 miles per tank someone let me know if I am wrong and not the math genius I think I am thanks.

60 on the speedo and 62 on the GPS would suggest you have a 3% overdrive, IE you are going 3% faster than shown.

4 miles vs. 3.8 shown would be a 5% over drive but the speedo is probably a better way to figure out your actual overage than the odometer

So next time you fill up and you've gone XXX miles, multiply that by 1.03 and you'll get your actual mileage then divide by gallons and you'll have MPG.

Not 40 miles, but some... maybe 10 miles... if you drive 330 miles on a tank... Hehe

mine is 1.13% off, but i cant remember what i divided to come up with that... It was GPS referencing against my speedo with 5.29's and 37's. I get 17-18 consistently... 21 last tank... This tank is gonna be around 15, as i had some 'acceleration or die' moments...

Now, before i did all this... and people may say im crazy... I ran stock everything with a metric equivelant to a 32" tire, and i had to multiply my mph by 1.33... Dead serious. GPS referenced.
