I AM ONLY GETTING AROUND 9MPG ON MY CRUSIER. IS THAT NORMAL OR SHOULD I EXPECT AROUND 12-15 MPG. NEWBIE:confused:

I'm getting around 11 with mine. I do better in the summer.

My '92 FJ80 3fe gets 12 on the low side and 14 on the high side. I have only gotten 9 mpg when driving cross-country fully loaded and pulling 4,000 lbs behind me, and I came across mostly in 3rd gear! I have new O2 sensors, plugs, wires, cap, rotor and 1 bottle of redline fuel treatment. I think you should be doing better.

Unless your driving it hard or pulling alot of weight, 9 is really on the low side. My well tuned 92 gets 12.5 - 13 average. I have squeezed 15-16.5 on long non-stop highway trips. Only mods on mine is dual exhaust and K&N. 9 is very low...

Whe was the last major tune-up performed??

Definitely low for a FZJ.

Right now I'm getting a dismal feeling 11 mpg or so.
I attribute that to a combination of bigger tires and winter gas.

Last summer (on 285s) I got a reliable 14-15 mpg.

Several threads out there on this topic.

mine shows a huge difference between town and freeway. You have to differentiate that.
Mine's about 11 or 12 in town and 15-16 on fway.
Exact numbers out there someplace.

11.5 mpg with mixed driving, highway, city and how ever many miles through Broken Arrow (5-7?) in 4low.

They are imperial gallons.
Never heard of colonial gallons.
3.78 liters per Imperial gallon
4.54 per US gallon.

In US gallons its about 22.5mpg.

Got that backwards Nick. Typo?

4.54 litres per imperial gallon
3.78 litres per US gallon.

Cheers,
Sean

Oh and BTW colonial was a joke :) :)

Good Grief. I may beat out most for the worst. i put 20 gallons in mine last week. i have gone 161 miles...and shes on empty. i usually go about 220 miles in the summer before i need to refuel. but its winter, and ever since i got a new fuel pump and starter...my mpg has gone down the tube.

just ran 450 miles at 80mph+ and got 13.5 mpg with the stocker... and part of that was over the grapevine.. which my wife went up at 70+ at about 3500rpm...

arround town they both get about 10mpg... on the road the best ever was 16 mpg when the 97 was newer and had stock size tires and we ran at 60 mph.....
