I went on a road trip from Louisiana to Minnesota in my 2000 LC. On the way back, staying in Missouri, I had a leak from the #2 injector on the passenger side. After an Uber run from the AB&B rental, I replaced the gaskets & grommets on three injectors and bought a new injector for one because the lower seals in this kit don't seem to fit. At least I couldn't get them to seat properly. Spendy, but I had to get back on the road.

I kept the Denso injector and am going to replace all of the seals on the injectors, I just need to find a kit that actually fits. So that's question one - where to get the lower seals that actually fit? Maybe OEM?

Now there is a gas leak coming from the passenger side under the truck. So that's the second question - what should I be looking for (seals/gaskets) there?

And since this seems to be gas related even though I used only E10 and ethanol free gas on the trip - the big question. What other gaskets/seals should I replace? Like all of them in the fuel system. Anyone have a list?

I'm wondering if you are having another issue with the fuel system causing multiple leaks
it is odd that all of a sudden you have leaks in different areas

When I replaced my injector seals one was leaking. Then when I took the fuel rail off all of the others failed. So I had to replace all. Or parts.

I'd put money on it being the injector seals like others have said. The rails need to be cleaned very well in the injector bores, then use new o rings and dip them in gas (per FSM) before seating them. If they get pinched or nicked they will leak. Probably not a bad time to also replace the fuel pressure regulator located towards rear of PS rail.

Outside of the injectors and fuel rails (fuel return line routes behind intake), there isnt much else it could be on the passenger side.

To bookend this thread - I replaced all 8 fuel injectors with remans from Advanced Auto for $62/each. The pictures on the website showed Denso's and sure enough, I got 8 Denso's.

I also replaced the fuel pressure regulator as suggested. The engine sounds great and the leaks have disappeared. So has the faint gas smell.

Judging from the looks of the injectors, the passenger side were original (so 300K+ miles) and the driver's side had been replaced at some point. Or at least the gaskets.

Have you notice any improvement in MPG after the Reman injectors?

I cleaned the injectors in my 300k mile driven prizm using brake parts cleaner off the engine. Power the injector and spray until you see a mist on the other end. back flush. What a change after this process. Have used Gumout on multiple times and noticed an improvement but off engine brake parts cleaner was the best. The MPG went up 100% city driving 23 MPG to 27-28 MPG and the car is very smooth.

I am planning on this same cleaning on my 3rd gen 4runner and the LC 100. I think the lower O-ring on LC is same as the 3rd gen 4runner injector seal. Each is about $4. Yes, use OEM and Never apply WD-40, engine oil etc, to the O-ring at install, as it immediately expands/softens the O ring potentially breaking during the install. Use gasoline as a lubricant.
