That is why I am hoping I can use it as a monitor only.

Apple products don't work that way @JamesR You can't repurpose it for just a screen connected to another device. And there aren't any monitors that I'm aware of that you can directly link to an iOS device in the manner you are familiar with.

If you want a bigger viewable screen, you need to buy another iPad. Planned obsolescence is real. iPads and iPhones won't be supported with newer software after 5-6 years of being on market.

Bummer - that's not what I wanted to hear. However, I expected as much. Thanks.

Does this sound logical to you?
I still need a monitor for my iPhone 10. I do not want to buy a new ipad ($$).
A raspberry pi touchscreen monitor has a hdmi port.
A connector for the iphone can be purchased that has a hdmi port.
Is it logical to assume (yes, I know what assume can mean.) that if I use the connector for the iphone and plug an hdmi cable into that and then plug the hdmi cable into the raspberry pi monitor everything should work.
(I may have to provide power to the monitor but that'll be no problem.)
Does that make sense?
