Hey fellas, bought some middle rear seats to install in my 96 upon installation could not get the latch to lock on the bar on the floor board is there a trick to this or some oversight on my part? also the 14mm bolts that secure the seat to the floor board are slightly different length by about 3/8 any difference weather I use them the front brackets or underneath the seat? update......:bounce::bang: I found the issue, it had nothing to do with the latch mechanism what caused it not being able to lock I had put dyanamat on the floor and in doing so did not allow the latch to lock because the plastic guard on the latch hit the carpet over the dynamite creating just enough height preventing it to lock. simple remedy was to take a soft rubber mallot and a round piece of dowel pin and massage down the area where the plastic meets the carpeting and the dynamite compressed just enough to allow it to lock!

Shouldn’t matter on the bolt length.
Are you sure the bolts that hold the seats are snug, do they have threads all the way down the bolt?
I have had my middle seat in and out many times with out issues

Is the latch functioning properly on the new seats? I have run into latch issues, I’ve mostly been Alex to work them out with lubricant and using a screw driver as the bar to trigger the latch a bunch of times

ill take a look I know the latch worked upon removal and it appears they are in the locked position not allowing the latch to open and grab the hinge on the floor ?

It’s been a while since I encountered this, but this sounds about right. Took a bit to work it back with the latch release.
