So a few weeks back, I got offered a swap for my 71. Although it was pretty clean I wanted to do a lot of work to it to make it a DD. Disc brakes, 4 speed, PS, fix the rot. Plus it needed all new rubber bushings and lines ect..you know the rest. (pics below are decieving)

So, I had a moment of weekness. My first car was a 72 nova and my buddy growing up had a 70 malibu.

I traded straight across, PO brought a 69 malibu from Conn to me, and picked up the toy. It was a mixed emotions day for both of us and happy/sad...

The 69 has a warm rebuilt 350(86) and Th350 , PS, headers was an A/C car All the body work is done ..new Q's trunk good seals. The only sore spot is the interior. It has camaro buckets, no headliner, and smells of mildew. All I did to it was replace the dryrotted tires. I'm driving it now when warm. Fun but I miss the LC, I'm just not a car guy.

Last week I picked up a new plow truck, I know it's not a LC but, hey at least it's still japanese.

It's a 63 patrol. The body is week but the frame and drivetrane is pretty solid. My plan is to get it running doing yard duty. I imagine LC parts replacing broken parts as they come up. This seems to be common. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this in the future. I just got offered most of my money into it for soft top bows and rails. I could probably double what I have into it by selling off stuff I really don't need for it. and still keep the plow, but I'm a sucker for a project...

I'll most likely sell the chevelle in the future after I repaint it and clean up the interior. I'm pretty sure I'll be looking for another LC definetly a later more driver friendly version. Maybe a troopy or a 45 As is I'd take $5000 for the velle.

I still have the 94, as a matter of fact I just got a new/used hatch for it cause the orig had a smallish rust bubble that was popped and rattled by the PO. anybody need a rear hatch for a 94 complete??

Wow. I can feel for you. I just got rid of my 40. I have a nissan in the driveway, and my dogs name is chevelle(I can't afford a real one).

Although your nissan is a lot older than my wifes.

sell it to you???

I havn't decide what I'll do. I do love the look. the group is small but dedicated. It's from northern PA all it's life working at a small flower nursery. Was on the road till 88. then it just plowed the lot.

If I keep it, I need to get the plow running and just work it around the yard.

My plan was/is to quietly fix it up to run it as a weekend driver. I picture myself running topless to work and bopping around town. ultimately I concidered a 60 drivetrain swap. but that would be a year or two down the road and only if I had engine trouble or wanted a daily driver..

It's a pretty solid rig, compared to some 40's ive seen. I need to do some body work but honestly these trucks are like 40's are not that complicated nice straight sides and 2" square tubing.

I wish I 4wheeled more this would make a killer unique trail truck. Out of the box as capable as a 40. And it's already got a twin stick shifter transcase. A set of springs / 34's and pull the top off. we're ready to rock.... ya right

I must admit I am going through some buyers remorse , I seriously concidered pulling the plow and parting it out. Like 40's sometimes the parts are worth more than the whole. I guess we'll see what happens when the weather breaks. I'm pretty stupid sometimes I got rid of my 40 cause I didn't want to spend all the time to make it the way I wanted it then I get another project??????

If I decide to skip the whole thing I'll let you guy's know. I'll probably keep the plow and softtop stuff and sell it for a couple hundred. then you real 4x4er's can beat the snot out of it at RC. :)

The replacement roof is great! Did that come off an old shed? Very cool truck.

Speaking of old 4x4s, we had a light blue IH Scout II when I was a kid. I loved that thing. It would be cool to sometime own another one.

It was a pretty tough choice not to trade my 80 for it, let me tell ya. Although I will say this, if the opportunity where to present itself, I would buy the 40.

She's alive, well Kinda, I got the 63 running today. It needs a full tune plugs are black. And it turns slow even with a new battery. But after a few sprays and some coaxing of the throttle she fired up. I can see how these could be hand started, didn't take too fast of a spin to fire up.

I'm hoping the PO drained the water cause I didn't see any. I don't have any headlights or any lights except for the brake lights that are on all the time.

A few odd things I found, I have 2 horns and a siren, the other horn looks like a trumpet.

Also I looked at my doors again looks like they are modified to be 1/2 doors. cool....... The upper sliding glass frame unbolts.

I also know why the drivers side floor is gone. I have a leak there somewhere.

If it wasn't so cold I'd still be out there.
